If you have already completed a Colorado Parks and Wildlife Hunter Education course, you may qualify for Colorado's 4-hour Basic Firearms Safety Course under SB25-003 instead of the full 12-hour course. This in-person training fulfills the additional firearms safety education requirement for individuals seeking to purchase or transfer specified semiautomatic firearms after August 1, 2026. Students must successfully complete the course and pass the required examination to receive certification.
